Portico is an end-to-end student platform bringing together attendance, skills, payments, and academic progress under a single experience. As multiple tools and systems consolidated under one brand, it became critical to define a cohesive, confidence-building student journey.

This engagement focused on identifying fragmentation across platforms, clarifying information architecture, and defining a clear north-star experience — from first login to graduation — so students always know where they are and what comes next.

Reducing friction in complex workflows

Strategic UX Improvements

JAMS is a leading workload automation platform relied on by enterprise teams to run critical business processes. As the product evolved to modernize its web experience and reach feature parity across platforms, ensuring clarity, confidence, and efficiency became essential.

This engagement focused on evaluating core workflows — job creation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and configuration — to identify usability gaps that slowed users down or obscured system status. The goal was not a visual refresh alone, but meaningful improvements that respect existing infrastructure while reducing cognitive load for operators, developers, and administrators.

Enabling a new customer segment

UX Audit

Mindbridge is a financial solutions platform designed to identify and manage risk. As they aimed to expand their market share by introducing a direct-to-enterprise product, it was crucial to assess if the product’s information architecture (IA) would be effective.

Our team was engaged to audit key areas of their existing workflows to identify any usability issues that might hinder adoption among enterprise users.

FOURTH PROJECT

Vestige

Modernize a dated platform enabling immediate actionability

UX Audit, Targeted Discovery, Redesign, & Dev Implementation Support

Vestige is a provider of transportation logistics solutions, specializing in delivering a centralized view of vehicle statuses for fleet managers. Seeking to enhance their product offerings, the Vestige team aimed to gain a deeper understanding of their users’ needs and incorporate these insights into a modernized user experience.

Our role began with engaging directly with users to identify their challenges and feature requests, along with auditing the current user experience. Following the initial discovery phase, we redesigned key sections of the application to offer a more modern, intuitive, and actionable experience for first-time users. After presenting our design recommendations, we were further engaged to assist in the development and implementation of these enhancements.

FIFTH PROJECT

Untappd

Understanding if there is product market fit

UX Audit & Market Research

Untappd offers beverage management solutions to breweries, helping them efficiently manage inventory and promote products. Following an underwhelming launch of their new Data & Insights platform, the Untappd team sought to determine whether the lack of adoption was due to product usability issues or a lack of product-market fit.

Our initial engagement involved auditing the user experience (UX) of the Data & Insights platform to identify any friction points in the purchasing workflow. Following the initial audit, we were commissioned to further investigate product-market fit and understand the potential value of this new product to Untappd’s existing user base.

Project Goals

  • Understand if/how retail customers are currently leveraging data today
  • Assess which types of reports might hold value to each retail customer type, why, and what are they willing to pay for that value
  • Evaluate existing product usability and current barriers to purchase
SIXTH PROJECT

Ecolane

Address the outdated UX, enabling expansion to iOS

UX Audit, Redesign

Ecolane, part of the Transit family, specializes in empowering transportation logistics for passengers with expanded needs. Their initial product was not only outdated but also incompatible with the iOS App Store, necessitating a device purchase along with the subscription.

Our engagement involved modernizing the user experience (UX) by incorporating common iOS design patterns. This allowed Ecolane’s product to be available for purchase in the App Store and made it compatible with existing devices that customers may already own.

Vault Verify

Modernizing an outdated user experience

UX Audit, Partner Support

Vault Verify assists HR teams and lenders in swiftly verifying critical information about individuals they are considering for business engagements. Following a comprehensive update to their technology stack, the team aimed to make significant improvements to the user experience (UX) across its various platforms.

We were engaged to chart a path forward for modernizing their overall user experience. Additionally, our role included assisting them in finding a budget-appropriate design partner to execute the end-to-end redesign.

Project Goals

  • Reinforce the value clients are getting from the vault verify product by surfacing usage metrics via recurring emails in addition to promoting key usage information
  • Establish an initial redesign concept vision
